Multi Dimensional songstress Empress Katia is an Enchantress of creativity and expression.
Weaving magic within the tapestry of words and music in the intention to express her authentic self and to Empower, Inspire and Powerfully reinforce the deeper connection to the self and to the joy of life and being, activates, elevates and motivates those in the presence of this energy.
Born in France with a French-Mauritian heritage, then raised between New Caledonia and Australia, and joining the travelling Moscow circus in her teens, Katia’s multicultural upbringing shaped a deep appreciation for diversity, different cultural expressions and a connection to all walks of life—qualities that flow through both her artistry and her life.
Soulful Earth Mama vocals with a lush honey like undertone melting into a unique flavor of Soul, Funk, Reggae, Roots, Jazz, Hip-hop, RnB, World fusion, is a taste that is bound to stay on your lips and dance through your mind with lyrics of powerful affirmations.
Working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years has allowed for extensive experience as a performer, managing her own business as an independent contractor and also working in collaboration with many different projects.
Becoming Incredibly versatile with a wide range of skills Empress Kata has worked as a Singer songwriter, Band leader, MC, backing vocalist, Multi-instrumentalist, (Saxophonist, Flutist, Guitarist, Bass, Percussion), Freestyle vocalist, Session Writer/Vocalist, Dancer and Fire performer, mentor/teacher also utilising her skills in costume design and creating elaborate head pieces and jewellery.
Working with her intuitive healing abilities The Empress also does Energy Body work and Psychic readings.
Front Women Mc for the 4'20 sound alongside SK Simeon for the over 5 years, hosting regular jam packed reggae nights at the iconic Beach Hotel in Byron bay as well as the Buddah Bar and Ginger Pig, Empress Katia has supported and shared the stage with many well know reggae legends such as Sista Nancy (Bam-Bam), Naaman (R.I.P), DJ Vadim, Scientist, Mad Professor, Tom Spirals, Mungo’s HIFI, Eva Lazarus, Dub Princess and many others.
With a strong reputation for her ability to freestyle on any stage at any time she is often invited by many different projects to featuring in their performances and has played at major events and festivals sharing the stage with and array of incredibly talented performers from around the world.
Nattali Rize (Blue King Brown), Grace Barbe, Bobby Alu, Nicki Bomba, Isaac Chambers, Saritah, ALPHAMAMA, Mystic Beats, Essie Thomas, Allensworth(USA), Monkey Marc and Wasabi, The Upsteppers, Kooii and that’s just to name a few... also collaborating with incredible Dance hall Dancer Nadiah Idris (so you think you can dance) at Island Vibe festivals shows, to bring in the element of dance to the performance.
Katia loves nothing more then to share and explore the many pathways of music and entertainment, creatively collaborating with many different artist and performers.
Also exploring electronic music avenues the Empress is part of Dj – vocal duo Electric Daisy Juice.

She has featured on many singles and album with artist such as Felicity Lawless, Murray Kyle, CC The Cat, Neil Junior and others and has also recorded with Producers such a ill gates, FatBabs(france), LubDub, Elementry HiFi and Atmoss.
Empress Katia was also involved in working as a Vocal Coach, Dance Choreographer, facilitator and mentor working with the youth at One Vision Productions for several years. Mostly working with indigenous youth reconnecting to culture and incorporating language in the song.
Facilitating song writing workshops as part of a team, writing lyrics, chorus/hooks dance choreography and story-boarding ideas for the final product of the music video clip and assisting in directing during filming.
Also co-creating with Mista Savona (Havana meets Kingston) song writing for youth organisation Drum Corp run by Col Hatchman from The Screaming Jets

Working one on one with students of all ages in a mentoring position, in creative arts supporting people to succeed in all areas of their life.
Currently working on her upcoming album “See Truth” sharing a story of love, heart break and healing and all of the lessons in between, to give solace in the feeling of not being alone being understood and as a reminder of a different way of see, live, love and how to have a better relationship with yourself and other. Living a more authentic life.
